Indian rupee up 31 paise vs US dollar in morning trade

Rising for the fourth straight day, the Indian rupee gained 31 paise to 62.10 against the US dollar in early trade today at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on increased selling of the US currency by exporters.
Strengthening of euro and yen against the dollar in overseas market and a higher opening in the domestic equity market also supported the rupee, forex dealers said.
The Indian rupee had gained 70 paise, the most in one and a half months, to close at 62.41 in yesterday's trade amid a sharp rise in local equities and dollar sales by exporters and banks.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex rose by 69.59 points, or 0.33 per cent, to 20,920.33 in early trade today.
