Naik met chief minister Mamata Banerjee at Writers' Buildings on Monday. "I have come to Bengal after 34 years of lack of economic growth and I heard in Delhi that she (Mamata) is full of ideas and progressive. She works very fast," the L&T chairman said after meeting the CM. Naik said he wanted to find out "what role we can play in the changed scenario." Finance minister Amit Mitra, who was present at the meeting, said L&T "is here for big ticket projects". Naik said the CM had insisted that he take part in development in north Bengal, participating in power projects, those related to infrastructure and beautification of the Hooghly.
